Samhain – (pronounced sow-win) is usually celebrated from October 31-November 1. It welcomes in the harvest and ushers in “the dark half of the year”. The barriers between the physical world and the spirit world break down during Samhain, allowing more interaction between humans and denizens of the Otherworld.
This is a good time to perform psychopomp ceremonies. The Shaman ceremony of assisting stuck souls to the light. The psychopomp is a guide who leads the soul on its journey to the afterlife. The term derives from the Greek word psuchopompos, literally meaning the “guide of souls.”
This is a good time to dust off your cauldrons, your black hat and meld with the season.
